Fred Tanzer has spent over 30 years in the hospitality industry as a developer, owner and operator.  Additionally, Fred delivers a key asset that helps differentiate Newport Hospitality Group from its competitors:  a demonstrated ability to market your hotel through direct sales.

Fred’s hotels have always out-performed their markets in occupancy and revenue, while producing excellent operating margins.  His methods and results have helped set the tone for Newport Hospitality’s success.

Prior to joining the hotel management company of Newport Hospitality, Fred was part owner and chief operating officer for Allen-White, Inc. of Greenville, NC.  At Allen-White, he supervised the operations and sales & marketing efforts for 12 hotels under four different franchises.  Additionally, Fred was Managing General Partner of Sunbelt Properties, directing the development of five Hardee’s restaurants in Central Florida.

Earlier in his career, Fred spent five years at Sheraton Corporation in various sales and marketing positions, including Director of Sales at the 650-room Sheraton Biltmore in Atlanta, and as Southeastern Corporate Regional Sales Manager.

Fred served as an Instructor of Hotel Sales and Marketing for three years in the Hotel Administration program at Georgia State University in Atlanta.  He is a graduate of the University of Missouri.
