Jim Nye is the resident Food & Beverage guru at Newport Hospitality Group.
Jim's nearly 30 years of experience has included several entrepreneurial endeavors, his favorite being ownership of six restaurants. He loves the F&B side of the business and we know of no one better suited to review, critique and optimize your food operation.
Jim has a varied hospitality background, which began in 1970 with a job as Night Auditor, Cook, Waiter and Bartender while attending Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration graduating in 1974. His hospitality career began with club management followed by several food and beverage positions and Assistant General Manager of an oceanfront resort.
A four year stint as Corporate Food & Beverage Director for a 29 unit restaurant chain was Jim's introduction to his career of choice. From there he embarked on ten years of restaurant ownership opening six operations most of which are still successful to this day.
After he re-entered the hotel segment in 1990, Jim came to the attention of Newport Hospitality Group. We convinced him our hotel management company would put his talents to good use and have had the industry's strongest Food & Beverage resource ever since. According to Jim, the quickest route to meeting the owner's financial goals is to exceed guest expectations.
He is a wizard at doing so with guest satisfaction based management focused on service and attention to detail, whether limited service lodging or full service catering, restaurants and events.
